2015 Award Winners Announced

26 November, 2015 at 7:45 PM

As the 2015 year draws to a close, I am very pleased to announce the recipients of the ALLA awards.

In many cases, library staff are unsung heroes in their organisation, so it's wonderful to be able to take the time each year to formally acknowledge the contribution of our members to the profession.

The ALLA awards offer the opportunity for individuals both in the law library field and the related field of legal publishing to be nominated by their peers in the following categories.

    * Gem of the Year - an award to acknowledge outstanding service by a representative of a legal publisher.

    * Legal Information Service of the Year - an award to acknowledge an information service provider, and thereby provide recognition to all the staff within that service.

I hope you will join me in offering congratulations to the recipients of the ALLA awards for 2015.

ALISON JONES, LAW LIBRARIAN OF THE YEAR

Alison is Knowledge Manager at Meyer Vandenberg Lawyers.

This award is in recognition of Alison's contribution to the profession particularly her enthusiasm when it comes to sharing her knowledge and experience with the profession via social media.

ALICIA COHEN, GEM OF THE YEAR

Alicia is the Regional Sales Manager for CCH.

This award is in recognition of Alicia's outstanding contribution to the profession particularly her willingness to go above and beyond to support both users of CCH products and the ALLA membership nationally.

LAW LIBRARY OF VICTORIA, LEGAL INFORMATION SERVICE OF THE YEAR

This award is in recognition of the excellent level of service provided by the Law Library of Victoria.

The presentations will be made to the Victorian recipients at their divisional end of year function, so all the more reason to attend! The ACT recipient will be awarded in early 2016.

My best wishes go to all the award recipients.

Kind Regards,

Elizabeth Langeveldt

ALLA President
